A whole slew of images were released recently via LEGO retail partner sites and we have just managed to catch our breath to finally give you updates on the Creator sets for the 1st half of 2018.
31071 Drone Explorer
The main build is supposed to be a drone but it’s somehow puzzling that there’s a cockpit and controls on board. Alternate builds look to be a twin propeller plane and an airboat
31072 Extreme Engines
Main build is a F1 race car with alternate builds of a go-kart and a speedboat
31073 Mythical Creatures
Main build is a dragon with alternate builds being a monster spider and a two legged monster carrying a sword of some kind. I expect this set to be very popular as an impulse buy with/for the kids, similar to its immediate predecessors (Mighty Dinosaurs and Red Creatures) which were rarely seen on the shelves due to the relatively low price point and attractive builds.
31074 Rocket Rally Car
A rally car, a quadbike and a Semi of some sort? Colours are bold and should make a good purchase for kids that love vehicles.
31075 Outback Adventures
Showcases several scenes of a man and his brick built dog going for an adventure in the great outdoors with the main build being a 4×4 truck and alternate builds being a helicopter rescue scene and a small build of them going on a boating excursion complete with a temporary shelter and campfire.
31076 Daredevil Stunt Plane
Showcases a daredevil and his exploits on a stunt plane, a stunt “jet” and a stunt boat.
31079 Sunshine Surfer Van
A fan favourite, a camper van is the main build with alternate builds of a convertible and a beach tower scene complete with a quad bike for a quick “hero” rescue scene.
31080 Modular Winter Vacation
Continuing with the “modular” theme from 2017, this is a winter lodge based theme with the main build being a house that doubles up as part of the course for a downhill ski. One of the alternate builds features a brick built Yeti/Abominable Snowman preying on a couple having a cozy campfire outside their lodge
31081 Modular Skate House
Probably the flagship of the normal Creator series for this wave, all three builds seem to feature one of the two “X-treme” sports namely Vert Skateboarding, Rock Climbing and the more “normal” sport of baseketball and the boxart even features a scooter and hopscotch.
