After being sold in Targets around USA for the past few weeks, LEGO has uploaded this SW set in the Shop@Home site which seems to be based on the Expanded Universe rather than the movies/cartoons. This variant of the T-47 airspeeder (another variant is the more illustrious snowspeeder which is suited to cold locales) is modified to be suited to dry and hot weather in dessert planets.
The skeptic in us will be saying that LEGO is just changing the colours around but this set definitely looks like one that was specifically released for the hardcore SW fans and casual fans alike. Apart from this, the minifigures themselves may carry some easter eggs. It has been theorized by fans that the helmets worn by these pilots are the same ones that were sported by Rey in The Force Awakens in the desert planet Jakku and by John D Branon in A New Hope (All Rebel pilot helmets are decorated by the respective pilots that were them and are thus unique to each pilot)
