The Life-Sized LEGO® TECHNIC MCLAREN FORMULA 1 Race Car which began it’s 2022 tour at the Australian F1 Grand Prix in April 2022 will be making another pit-stop (it’s first in South East Asia) ahead of the scheduled Singapore Grand Prix weekend later this month.
Catch the life-sized model at the LEGO® Technic McLaren Formula 1™ Pop-Up Experience, happening from 23 September to 2 October 2022 in front of Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza.
Built by the Brickman team (the only LEGO Certified Professional in the Southern Hemisphere), this spectacular build is made up of 288,315 LEGO bricks and measures 5.7 metres in length and 2.4 metres in width and took the team close to 1,900 hours to complete. Designed in close collaboration between engineering experts from the LEGO Group and McLaren Racing, get a close-to-real experience by sitting in the build and document this with a photo for the memories!
The model was created to mimic the LEGO TECHNIC set 42141 McLaren Formula 1™ Race Car and the Brickman team had to recreate all of the Technic Pins, liftarm holes and details from the LEGO Technic elements. The model is made of 5 separate components: the wheels, the car body, suspension halo and front spoiler. The wheels are also designed to be removed for ease of transport.
Visitors can also take part in various building activities as well as speed challenges, and stand a chance to take home a special gift with purchase. Fans of the youngest ever British Formula 1 Driver Lando Norris, can also catch the man himself on 28 September as he makes an appearance at the pop-up!
