LEGO Icons Theme Name Announcement

Since the discontinuation of the brand name Creator Expert 2022 in what we think was a bid to pursue a more adult oriented packaging and targeted market for the larget LEGO sets, there has been no unifying name for the sets under this category.

LEGO has now announced a new unifying name ICONS for various sets targeted at different passion points for the adult market. The name will go live on e-commerce platforms starting June 2022. The physical packaging of the sets will start to carry this theme name starting Jan 2023

From June 1st, 2022, we will be uniting many of our adult focused LEGO® sets under the name LEGO® Icons to help our adult consumers easily to find new, immersive builds or models that link to their interests and passions, particularly when shopping or browsing online. The name LEGO Icons will span all of our sets designed for older builders that are not already part of an existing LEGO theme such as LEGO® Technic, LEGO® Ideas or LEGO® Architecture.THE LEGO GROUP

Previously, even with the discontinuation of the name, we still used Creator Expert in our day to day conversations with fellow fans so this name is welcome. It will take us a bit of a time to get warmed up to the name but we have to say that it makes communication and filtering for such sets a whole lot easier.
