DC Fandome, a new virtual event for DC fans around the world will take place across two Saturdays starting 10am (Pacific Time) on Aug 22, 2020 as well as Sep 12, 2020.
LEGO has launched two special sets to coincide with this event.
Firstly, there is minifigure exclusive; the CW Supergirl minifigure which is based on the latest TV iteration of Supergirl on the CW Network (CBS+WB) starring Melissa Benoist which will be given away via the DC Fandome Sweepstakes. This sweepstakes is open only for residents of the 50 states of the US, and the District of Columbia.
Secondly, there is the set exclusive, the 77906 Wonder Woman set which is now up for pre-order for USD39.99 in at least two websites; the US LEGO Shop@Home and US Walmart. There does not seem to be any recolours/exclusive pieces for this set except for the 2×4 tile which shows which vintage comic cover inspired this little vignette.
LEGO has previously released special varieties of their superhero for comic conventions and fairs such as San Diego Comic Convention and the New York Toy Fair. As the world is still struggling to get into grips with the COVID-19 situation, the distribution has changed slightly. However, it seems that the target market stays the same, exclusively USA which is a shame.
