A life sized bright red LEGO TOYOTA CAMRY weighing 2,000kgs has been built with more than 500,000 bricks by the team led by Ryan ‘the Brickman’ Mcnaught, one of only 14 LCP (LEGO Certified Professionals) in the world.
The build is the result of a partnership with Toyota presumably to accompany the launch of the 8th Gen Toyota Camry. It has a Duplo core and utilizes a massive amount of SNOT(Studs Not on Top) techniques over a period of two months.
The full-size Lego replica of the Toyota Camry
is made of more than 500,000 Lego bricks.It weighs two tonnes
which is 0.4 tonnes more than the working car.
It features details of the Camry such as logos on the wheels,lettering, and working headlights.The Lego Camry was designed by Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught.
Brickman is only 1 of 14 Lego certified professionals in the world.It took 900 hours to assemble over 8 weeks, more than 40 times longer than Toyota takes to make a single car – which includes stamping panels, welding, painting, assembly and inspections.
“We’re so excited to introduce the all-new Toyota Camry in a fun and interactive environment to Melburnians,” said Toyota Australia chief designer Nicolas Hogios.
The Lego Camry is on display at the Brickman awesome exhibition in Melbourne Museum Plaza from March 21st to April 29th.
In an interview with Motoring Australia, The Brickman shares some answers to frequently asked questions such as how he landed the “dream job” of playing with LEGO for a living(Basically :right place, right time) and he thanks Toyota for a chance to create his first life sized car. He also leaves us with an important tip once you’ve completed your LEGO creation, “Make sure you include yourself in your LEGO model”.
